Waiting at the hospital

August 8, 2009

Here I am at the hospital. My grandma had to come here because she had fluid in her lungs. She’s cool now. I’m waiting for her doctor to get here and hopefully tell me that I can rake her home. Boredom settled in a while ago. This sucks.

I have accomplished my goal of getting an iPhone. Th internet now rules my life. It is always by my side. Kind of sad, but ridiculously convenient. The fact that wordpress has an application is also convenient.

The Burdens side of the split is finally done. Two new songs are up on the myspace. I’m really happy with how they came out, but I think I’m going to be redoing some vocals and there will be some remastering. We have played one show since tour. That was two days ago in Bethlehem. We played with hostage calm, which was awesome. Band is so tight live. We have two shows coming up with cut short and damages. The 20 and 21. One in chalfont and onenin Delaware. It should be a good time.

Next week is This Is Hardcore. I got a 3 day pass but may not be able to go the first day, which sucks. Stoked regardless.

Now I’m going to continue waiting for this doc so that I can get out of here and start my week of free crib.

HOME IS BORING

July 13, 2009

Seriously.  This is my first update since the tour.  Home is extremely boring.  Hanging out with friends and my girlfriend is always good, but otherwise I’m just stuck inside my mom’s house on this computer and that’s no good.  Oh well.  I get paid to be a bum.

Finally, though, I had an awesome weekend with stuff worth updating about.  Thursday night, or Friday morning, I saw BRUNO with my girlfriend.  It was no Borat, but it did the Bruno character justice and I definitely enjoyed it.  One of the most, if not the most, vulgar movies I have ever seen.  Awesome.  I recommend it.  If you don’t like it, you suck and need to get the fuck over Borat and realize it’s still funny.

Then came Friday.  Me, Keith, and Alli went to the Neast to go to a house show at Max’s.  That was an experience.  Max lives pretty much in the ghetto of the North East.  It could be worse though.  I played there before, but it was colder out then and there weren’t as many interesting people outside.  We were there for 2 to 3 hours just hanging out with everyone and grilling until the show started.  By the time the show actually did start, I was pretty much more into just hanging out outside.  It was a cool time though.  First time I got to see Wilsons War (members of Let Down/War Pigs), and that was pretty sweet.  Definitely stoked to hear recordings.  I think Bob said they are putting out a split with Title Fight?  If so, awesome.  Blackout jumped on the show since Wrong Answer and Times Up dropped off.  They didn’t seem to into it, which was a bummer.. but the jams were heavy as usual.  Full Circle was a disaster since Rycal was wasted.  Fireworks were set off in the basement.  At that point the show was over for me.  I really wanted to see Force Fed but I’m a pussy and didn’t want to deal with the smoke.  They sounded good though.  After the show we went back to Keith’s and me, him, Alli, and Joe Fasano hung there.  Alli left shortly after.  Us brah’s just hung in Keith’s computer room and downloaded the new Trapped Under Ice cd which is awesome.

Saturday was one of the most fun days I’ve had in a while.  Me and Glick drove up to Wilkes-Barre for Slambfest 09.  It started at 4, and there was 10 bands.  It was right in the middle of Kingston in a big ass garage.  I think 150ish people paid.  There was probably around 200 people packed into that garage, which was insane.  Manbreed opened (Hatebreed cover band, members of Mother of Mercy, Bad Seed, and Let Down).  They had some technical difficulties and the set was weird, but kids still got into it.  The covers ruled.  After that set, two local WB bands played.  I forget the name of the first one, but they were pretty cool.  Concrete Reality played after them.  Second time I got to see them, and I enjoyed it once more.  Band is definitely awesome.  Freeze Up, another WB local played, and they sounded great.  I didn’t get to watch most of their set, but it sounded awesome regardless.  Short End from Long Island split a set with Backtrack.  First time I ever heard them.  They were sweet.  Backtracks set was nutty.  Hard mosh and good times.  That band is so awesome.  Definitely my favorite set of the night.  Mother of Mercy’s set was INSANE.  Kids were going ape shit.  They sounded really tight.  Band always does good.  It was The Early Birds last show.  Bummer.  Second time I ever got to see them.  Band was really sweet, but they are all in Title Fight and Bad Seed so it’s understandable.  Bad Seed’s set, IMO, was really sloppy and I wasn’t too into it.  The mosh was sweet though and it was still fun.  SFAR was awesome as always.  They do that style of hardcore just right, and their Madball cover is always sweet.  Got such a good reaction.  Title Fight packed all 200 people who were there into the garage because 1) they are Title Fight, it was their release show, and thats why people were there 2) it was pouring outside, and even being in the garage we were getting wet since the door was open.  Their set was insane.  That band is so good.  I can’t wait until Ott put’s the footage from the show up.

I left that show with:

Mother of Mercy – III 12″ red, cream, black/104
Bad Seed – S/T 7″ blue/300
Freeze Up! – S/T 7″ blue

and:

Oh well.  The ride home was insane since it was thunder storming the whole time and me and Glick almost died a billion times.  Awesome.

That’s pretty much it for the weekend.  Here’s some shit you should check out though:

NY style hardcore from Delaware.  Don’t sleep on it.  Shit is so awesome and pretty fresh for a style that’s been done a lot.

That’s it for now.

THE END

June 22, 2009

Our weekend tour thing has come to a conclusion as I am now sitting back at my moms house again.  I decided to write some blog journal things down in my phone while I was bored either in the van or at the different stops we were at.  There’s nothing too exciting, but if you care for what I did and how the band did then I guess check it out.  Don’t expect any Get In The Van shit.. we are no where near that bad ass, and 4 days isn’t enough time to have extremely crazy stories.  I still had a great time though.

6/15 12:28 pm –  The drive from Albany to Rochester is extremely boring.  Luckily it’s not that long.  All we have passed so far are a few cool dams and a bunch of trees.  Dave is DJing the ipod and keeps putting on music I personally find boring.  I want to sleep, but that’s not happening, which is why I’m writing this bullshit down in my phone.  The only thing I have to amuse me is twitter, and that’s sad.  While staring at Chris and Dave’s ears, I decided that humans have the ugliest ears.  I can’t think of any animal off the top of my head that has ears that look weirder than human ears.  Flesh and cartilage on the side of our heads.  Whatever.  It would be neat to have a book or one of the numerous prono mags we have, but they are in Cut Short’s van.  This is causing me to just sit here and think of random shit.  I realized how much I appreciate my girlfriend.  Yes, this is lame to be writing about but fuck it.  That girl is seriously awesome and I couldn’t be happier.  Fuck the past two years forever.  I’ve pulled out my guts and lied to myself to try and make other girls happy and I get spit on and turned into the bad guy.  FUCK THAT.  That shit made me miserable and I’ve finally come to terms that I don’t need that.  As of now I’m not having that problem and it’s great.  I really wish this tour was longer than 6 shows, but it’s our first time out so it’s better than nothing and I’m still stoked.  Tonight we are playing with Beartrap and Decades.  A rap group called Neon King Kong is headlining.  Every band on the bill is some different kind of hardcore, and then theres Neon King Kong.  It’s going to be an interesting night.  I have a few things I need to get crtacking on when I get back.  I need to find an apartment in Lansdale.  I need to find a job.  I also need to get cracking on mine and Smurph’s zine.  One interview is finished and as far as I know we don’t have any other material.  Hopefully we can get it out in July, but this is my first zine so I’m trying to take it slow before I get the forumla down.  Hopefully kids dig it.  I knew I should have pooped at Dan Brotherhood’s.  Oh well.  Later.

6/16 3:15 pm –  Today was a day worth writing about.  Actually it’s only because I’m stuck in the car again.  It;s 3:15 am and we are on our way to sleep at a Walmart in Buffalo.  We played in Rochester today.  It was pretty interesting.  I guess we got to Rochester around 4?  I forget.  Chris is friends with a dude named PJ, so we met up with Cut Short at his crib.  Me and Drew finally managed to get low, and then all of us went to a park to play dodgeball.  Unfortunately I’m fat and my ankle hurts, so I was catcher, but Burdens won regardless.  Cut Short is full of pansies.  The venue we played at tonight was decent.  A place called the Dubland Underground.  This great early 80’s influenced hardcore band opened.  Dudes were like 14 and it fucking ruled.  We went on and it was alright.  Kids there don’t believe in moving up.  My throat is currently dying so I sounded like dick, but whatever.  Cut Short sounded better than ever and it ruled.  Mosh.  Beartrap was solid as fuck.  Such a good band.  Decades seriously blew me away.  Band is sweet recorded, but the live show definitely does it for them.  So much energy and they were completely on point.  The best part of the show wsas the fact that  rap duo closed the show and more people were there for them than anyone else.  God awful in my opinion.  Oh well.  After the show we hung out in the parking lot with Cut Short, Beatrap, and Decades.  Lots of sining of super gay songs went down and it was awesome.  Us and Cut Short followed Beatrap to an abandoned subway tunnel afterwards.  First off, dudes in Beartrap are nuts.  That tunnel, or cave, as Marty would call it, was creepy as fuck.  We only had 2 flash lights for 15 dudes.  You seriously couldn’t even see an inch infront of you without flash lights.  I thought hobos would bum rush us.  Dudes in Beartrap had chains, and apparently a gun haha.  Me, Bill, Garrett, Tyler, and the drummer of Beartrap ended up pussing out of the darkness and paid more attention to looking at and drawing graffiti.  Apparently there was an empty hobo camp though.  Tonight made me wish even more that we were going on a 50 day tour like Decades and Beartrap.  Bummer.  Hopefully next year.  That’s all I got now.

6/17 12:24 am –  Today has been the longest and most eventful day so far.  We got to the Walmart in Buffalo at around 4 last night.  I fell asleep in the drivers seat with my feat up on the wheel at around 5.  Then I woke up at fucking 7:30 along with Chris, Tyler, and Dave.  Lucky for us there was an Ihop in the shopping center so we went there while everyone slep.  Finally everyone was up and ready by 11 and we went right to niagra falls.  We ended up spending 3 or 4 hours there and of course I didn’t wear sunblock.  Now I have a ridiculous tan/sunburn and an awesome tank top tan line.  After the falls we went to what is supposed to be the best wing place in Buffalo.  I only got a cheese hoagie.  Bummed.  Oh well.  Fast forward to the show we played in a basement in Buffalo with Cut Short, Beartrap, Decades, and a pop punk band called Rust Belt Lights.  I pretty much have no voice and sounded like dick but over all the show was sweet.   Dude’s in Decades and Beartrap are awesome and I wish we could hang with them longer.  I’m not really sure how kids were feeling us but whatever.  Everyone seemed to have a good attitude.  Now I’m laying on a couch at Dan’s cousins house.  Unfortunately Cut Short is on there way to a Walmart in Erie, PA.  Poor dudes.  I will think of them in my sleep.  (Funny thing is that the blew out a tire that night.  We found out in the morning.  Oh well haha)

6/18 2:30 am –  It’s 2:30 in the morning and we are on our way back to Dan’s from Cleveland.  We should be arriving there at 8.  Awesome.  Out ofi this 4 day outing, Cleveland was defintely the best.  I wish we had that whole show on tape.  We played inside the Chinese food place that was in the movie A Christmas Story.  These punk kids bought it and made it into a venue.  So fucking sweet.  The place was covered in graffiti.  We had to open again, which was fine.  There was a handful of kids there.  Couldn’t tell if they dug us.  We played well though.  Cut Short was great.  I moshed hard.  A local band called Mammals played.  Sweet power voolence influenced shit.  Decades was amazing for the third time.  Mosh was had.  The best part though was Beartrap’s set.  We brought in the two hockey sticks we had and they were smashed to pieces.  A bike was thrown around.  A recliner was tossed.  Mikey bled.  An all in all ridiculous set.  I’m gonna miss the dudes in Decades and Beartrap a lot.  Sweetest dudes.  Hopefully we can do atleast a month next summer.  More weekends must be had this summer and winter break as well.  When we first left we had a van war with Cut Short.  We won of course.  That band is full of pussies.  We hit them with cups, pee, bags, and Marty swung the door open and flashed his dick at them at like 70 miles an hour.  They threw minimal shit and Billed mooned us.  Lame.  Burdens may have sold less shirts, but we will fuck those pussies in the ass.  FTW 2009 BURDENS MOTHERFUCKER.

And that was it for our 4 days out of state.  On the 19th we played at Chris’ house in Doylestown with Blackout, Wrong Answer, Homewrecker, and Cut Short.  At first I expected this show to suck and have a minimal turn out, but it was actually fucking awesome.  I think almost 30 kids paid which is sweet for a basement show with no hype bands.  Blackout was great.  Or Bolandout as I should say since Joe Boland did vocals for them.  Fire crackers were also set off.  Saw Wrong Answer for the first time in a few years.  So tight and heavy.  The mosh was great.  Homewrecker is a touring band from around Cleveland.  They were fucking awesome.  Check them out ASAP.  Cut Short played and thats when things got a little messy.  A few drop ceiling tiles were ripped out.  People took Disney VHS and ripped out the tape and threw it everywhere.  Mosh was violent.  More fire crackers.  When we went on the mayhem increased.  I didn’t have high hopes since we were headlining, but it was awesome.  More drop ceiling tiles were broken.  The plastic light covers were broken over peoples head.  Dan Reilly broke fluorecent (sp?) light bulbs on his head and the ground.  People were jumping into the glass.  So violent and awesome.  We actually managed to clean up Chris’ basement too.  It’s awesome to come home and play a show like that, and I’m glad we showed Homewrecker a good time.

Last night we played in Kingston, PA with Wrong Answer and Cut Short, and two bands from the North East.  It was in a tiny ass basement.  More kids came than I expected.  I enjoyed playing up there.  All the bands were real tight and a few kids moshed.  Unfortunately some kids left before Cut Short played, bummer.  I don’t have much else to say about that show.  Now I don’t know what to do about myself.  It’s hot as balls so I’m getting off this computer.  Hope you enjoyed the read.  I’m putting up an entry with all the pics I can find once they are put up.

ALBANY

June 15, 2009

We left for Albany yesterday, and so far this trip has been awesome.  Friday night the Cut Short guys came to my house in West Chester and we had a sweet slumber party.  The next day we got all our shit together and both bands met up at Dan’s house so we could pack the shit into the van.  The best part about this was that me and Drew stumbled onto a bunch of free hockey sticks, baseball bats, and an assortment of different sports balls.  We got the good shit and through it in the van and left for Albany.

Tyler from Cut Short stayed back with the rest of my band and I went with Cut Short.  The drive wasn’t bad at all, 4-5 hours I guess.  We met up with Dan Brotherhood (dude who booked our show there) in downtown Albany.  Albany is great.  One of the cleanest and quaint cities I’ve seen.  Dan Brotherhood is an awesome dude.  We got food at a great mexican place called Bombers.  The Philly area needs to work on getting one, because the food is amazing.  After eating and hanging out downtown we went to the mall to go to the movies and see The Hangover, again.  Just as funny a second time.  Highlight of that stop was Drew farting on a little kid who was reading a graphic novel in Barnes and Noble.  Awesome.  After the movie we went to Dan’s crib, got comfy, and eventually passed out.

That brings us to this morning.  We all got up around 10, I think, and eventually went to Ihop for breakfast.  Dan is pretty much the coolest dude ever and bought us breakfast.  Awesome promoter, backed hard.  After breakfast, my band finally met up with us.  We chilled at Dan’s and then left for the venue.  On the way, Dan once again bought us food so that we could grill some shit up at the venue.  Even grilled, veggie hot dogs are still gross in my opinion.  Oh well, being a veg just feels better.

The show only had 3 bands. Searching, us, and Cut Short.  Searching was cool.  About 5 kids came out, haha.  They all left after Searching, so we played to the dude doing sound and  3 dudes from Searcing, and Cut Short.  Shit was weak, but it was still a good time.  Hopefully the next time we play here kids will actually come out.

Thanks to me and Drew finding all of those free toys and sports shit, chaos ensued after the show.  I almost got hit a boomerange multiple times, Garrett got beat with a foam bat, and hockey sticks were chucked around at a large bouncey ball.. thing.  The only person to leave with an injury was Tyler, who has an awesome bruise on his shoulder thanks to Max throwing the foam bat at him.

We packed up all the shit and headed back to downtown Albany to go back to Bombers.  Yes, it is that good.  A dude named Hessian Dave met up with us there.  By far one of the craziest/funniest dudes I have ever met.  After eating more awesome mexican food, and heckling pedestrians walking down the side walk, I decided Albany must be done again.  Seriously an awesome city.  Worth visiting even if I wasn’t playing a show.

Now I am back at Dan Brotherhood’s laying on his living room floor with 9 other dudes.  Tomorrow we are going to Rochester.  Never been.  Hopefully it’s cool.  The show is the start of our little 3 day thing with BearTrap and Decades.  Gonna be awesome to see them 3 times in a row.  Maybe we will play to some kids this time.

Doubt anyone actually cared about all that non-sense but I am extremely bored.  Not sure if I’ll be able to update this again until I get back home.  Oh well.  Life is too good right now.

Update on my Bullshit

June 5, 2009

I haven’t updated this in a week or so.  I was reminded about my blog by a sweet text message that I got sometime last night, so I guess it’s time to update again.  Anyway:

I moved into my new house in West Chester.  It’s so old and has canyons painted on the walls in our living room.  Hilarious.  All in all, the house is cool.  I got the biggest room, but will be moving out in August so I guess that doesn’t really matter.  My land lord and his partner are nuts in a good, yet creepy way.  They hung out with us the second night we were there… it was.. interesting.  Going back up to West Chester in about 45 minutes.  I need to get out of this house.

In a week from today we leave for tour.  This will definitely be the highlight of my summer and I am extremely stoked.  I will definitely be keeping a journal of some sort and will most likely post my entires on here, because why not.  Personal journals: pointless, yet when you’re that bored.. it works.  Burdens is playing with This Is Hell on Sunday.  Super stoked on that.  I haven’t seen TIH in years and playing with them at the Grange should be nice.  Missing out on the Iron Age/Mind Eraser show but hopefully I will be able to see both of them soon.

All in all, my life has been really boring, thus no updates or anything.  My grandma stopped going to radiation so I can’t even complain about sitting in a waiting room for 10 minutes every morning.  This is good though.  She’s also doing good, if you care.

I saw Drag Me To Hell last night.  I was impressed.  I expected it to be pretty good, because Sam Rami rules, but it was a lot better than I expected.  The ending was great.  Definitely a jumpy movie, with some scenes I found comical.. but I think that was his intention.  Justin Long did a really good job too.

Also started jamming with Dillon and Eli.  We jammed out some low ass tuned power violence, which is horribley awesome.  I love it.  Bro Crusher all day.

I don’t plan on updating this again until during/after tour, unless someone else wants me to write a review or some shit.  If so, let me know.

SALTY?!

SALTY?!

Hellish Noise

May 28, 2009

I wrote this in my phone last night for some reason:

12:18 am – Do you know your enemy? Green Day does, you motherfucker.  Stickin it to the fuckin man.  That’s why I hear their fuckin commercial every two seconds on the idiot box.  I already knew my enemy when Rage Against The Machine told me.  Back off Green Day, they got this covered.  Worry about straightening your hair or eyeliner, or something.  Longview for life.  Fuck

I don’t know why. I wasn’t all there.. whatever.

I recently joined a band called Hollenlarm.  The link for the myspace is on the right of this page, check it out.  Awesome stoner jams with black metal influence.  We are in the middle of recording.  I’m stoked to be jammin with these dudes and when the songs are done I hope people dig them.  Definitely something different for my voice.  My throat hates me.  Oh well.

In other band news, the Burdens/Cut Short tour is actually coming together pretty nicely.  We need confirmation on 3 dates I think.  Playing 3 dates with BearTrap and Decades will be great.  Also stoked for the home show even though its local, it’s a sweet show regardless.  we’re playing with This Is Hell at the Harmony Grange in DE on the 7th as well, so come to that.  That’s all.  This entry sucked.

Opticon – Smoke Doom Ep

MYSPACE

So out of boredom I’ve decided I want to throw a few reviews up on this blog.  Actually, I plan on starting a zine in the near future with Smurph, but this is what I got right now.  If you like my style and want me to write for your zine, blog, website, anything, I will probably be down.  This band, Opticon, asked me if I could review their EP called Smoke Doom.  They are from the Pocono area of PA, which in my opinion is starting to breed a lot of shitty shitty bands.  Luckily, Opticon seems to bring something different to the table for that scene.

The 7 song “Smoke Doom EP” has a little something for everybody I think.  The CD has so many twists and turns in terms of sound.  In the beginning I felt like I was listening to a Poison the Well song.  Heavy chords and hard hitting cymbals. How can you not head bang to that?  Though it’s not my thing, they actually do the Acacia Strain dirty chord break down deal and make it sound good with their music.  None of the break downs come out of no where or feel forced, and I like that.  I can’t help but hear a lot of Misery Signals in most of the songs as well.  That’s just the main themes of the EP though.  What really stuck out were the great Sabbath influenced stoner rock parts that would come in, along with some nice more experimental and ambient sounding guitar riffs. The end of the opening track “Dreams and Elegies” is a great example.  I wouldn’t necessarily label this band “stoner metal”, but the influence is there.  Smoke Doom, though, is most definitely a fitting name.

The vocals really stuck out to me on this EP.  Unlike most bands of this genre, the vocals seem to be influence by more of a “hardcore” sound as opposed to the screechy brees of a lot of todays metalcore.  The kid knows how to front this band, there’s no doubt about this.  His “vocal patterns”, I guess you would call them, are very fitting.  Plus, he actually sounds like he means what he’s saying as opposed to being mundane and boring.  I wish I had lyrics so I could say more, but I couldn’t find them posted anywhere.

Most of the songs are long, the shortest one clocking in at 3:33 and the longest being 7:24.  The song that seemed to stick out to me the most was “Sunless”, the shortest track on the cd.  It kept it to the point, kept me head banging, and the vocals are great.  The only song I think I would personally skip on this EP is the track “Skywriting by Word of Mouth”.  It starts out with one of those droney break downs, and pretty much stays that course the whole song.  I was bored and felt myself wanting to skip the track through out most of it.  It also sounds like it was recorded somewhere else than most of the cd.  I’m not sure if this is true or not, but regardless, it lacks what the other songs have.

All in all I have to say I was impressed with the Smoke Doom EP.  I was expecting some half assed metalcore band from the Poconos, but actually got a metalcore band with awesome influences that is still doing something cool.  The EP isn’t something I would personally put on to rock out to on a day to day basis, but if you’re into bands like : Nights Like These, Misery Signals, Poison the Well, and The Acacia Strain, then this band is definitely for you.

I have their download link up there, so don’t sleep on this.

Mornings suck

May 27, 2009

8:24 am – The cancer center. The center of the cancer. The two ladies that treat my grandma look like twins. My grandma is cranky today. I’m keeping our conversation limited. Nothing worse than a tired, cranky, 66 year old Taiwanese woman that has an attitude even when shes awake and healthy. Too bad I can’t quit this job. I wouldn’t. Luckily no one is waiting with me today. The room is all mine.  Nevermind, a patron just came in.  Time to sink.

Now (9:17 am) – Stuck inside my house all day.  I don’t know why I update this so early in the day, like I have anything else to say except what will most likely become my daily mini cancer center blog.  Oh well.  I want to review a cd or something later.  Someone give me ideas.

Grey skies.

May 26, 2009

I’ll probably add more to this entry later. It’s only 908 am and my girlfriend is still sleeping. Good thing my computer is always around.

I wrote this from my phone about 30 minutes ago.

840 at the cancer center and I feel fucking invincible.  It’s not in a good way either.  Every morning I bring my grandma into this waiting room and sit in silence while she falls in and out of sleep in her wheel chair.  The usual bunch that waits with her are nice though.  One lady is younger, one lady is older, both facing the same giant that millions of humans face today.  And I feel invincible to it.  This isn’t happening to me.  This isn’t me.  They don’t look at me like I’m any better or worse, but I feel worse.  I feel like I sit here flaunting my good health and I hate it.  So I close my eyes and pretend to sleep.  I’d rather sink into this ugly carpet.

Now it’s 913 though and I’m at my mom’s house.  In about an hour I’ll be driving my girlfriend to her therapy session.  That’s about as deep as I’ll go with that.  She’s going to have a rough day.  My day will consist of being here and just BEING.  For some reason as I typed that I got really dizzy.  I need proper sleep.  Hopefully I hang out with Jon today.  It’s too grey to sit in the house by yourself, you’ll go crazy.  I’m going crazy because tour is falling apart and because I just took something huge onto my plate.  It’s 915 and I’m going to lay back in bed.

EDIT:

803pm and I managed to not leave the house since this morning.  I must have spent the majority of the day on this chair, and that sucks.  Old friends pop in here and there when you are home, and that was the case today.  Hopefully I’ll get to see Biz later on tonight.

Today is slow as FUCK.  Without leaving the house though I did manage to accomplish a few things.  Maybe I didn’t actually accomplish anything, but things involving my life were resolved and that’s an accomplishment.  My girlfriend situation: good.  That’s swell because I was scared my brand new relationship was already going to be finished.  Tour WAS falling apart, but within a day it’s already starting to be patched up.  We have some tentative dates and I’m hoping they all come through.  This is honestly all that’s been on my mind.

I’m antsy to play.  Everyday I just want to jam, doesn’t necessarily have to be with any band.  Being able to play out for 9 days straight is going to be great.  I’ll probably end up a lot more broke than I already am, a lot more frustrated, and will be very uncomfortable for the long drives, but playing will be worth it.  Hopefully kids come out and see us and Cut Short. 3 of the dates are also with BearTrap and Decades, both awesome bands.  Check them out when you get the chance.

I think I want to upload a band to here and maybe write a review tomorrow, for anyone who cares.  Most people probably don’t, but I already know I’m going to be stuck inside and bored out of my mind for the bulk of tomorrow, so it’s going to happen.  Stay tuned.

Memorial Day

May 25, 2009

My girlfriend has been in the shower/bathroom for almost an hour now, so I figured why not update my blog. Since you’ve last tuned in, I have been really frustrated and angry. What’s new.

Summary to my frustration: Parents just don’t understand. Booking tours suck. Living at home temporarily after being out of the house for 2 years is a big jump.

Ah well, it really isn’t that bad considering what I was going through before.  Plus, today is MEMORIAL DAY! How could I be upset? It’s a day to honor and respect all of the soldiers past and present, and to love this amazing country.  Right.  I got my respect for you soldiers doing what you want to do and believing what you want to believe, but I still can’t say it’s something I’m cool with. I will never join the military, for any country.  I guess putting a weekend aside to grill and set off fire works in remembrance of all the innocent lives that have been lost isn’t too bad.  The food was great.

I find myself getting angry in public places.  Sometimes I want to twist off heads.  Terminator Salvation was a good movie, in my humble opinion.  I can see why others had issues with it, but thats not my issue.  My issue was the 14 year old kid in the back of the movie theater yelling shit to be funny.  Yeah I know I’ve been there, but thats only something to do during bad movies.  The movie didn’t even start, and I could tell the kid was just ready to try and piss off the room.  Maybe it’s a sense of power knowing that you’ve bothered a few people, or the fact that people are giving you attention at all.  I don’t know.  All I wanted to do was turn around and squeeze his head off.  That’s all.

My future is looking like Montco or Bucks Community college.  I may be living permanently in the BucksMont area within a few months. We’ll see.  I had good times at West Chester, and I still have good friends there, but I have no yearning or want to be there anymore.  It just pisses me off.  It’s 3am and I hear a male screaming outside my window.  Without looking I can tell he is some American Eagle tunnel vision hat, cargo short, polo wearing frat boy that thinks he owns the HARD HARD streets of West Chester, and that he has no care that I am trying to fucking sleep.  One thing I like about living at home, I don’t need to deal with that.  On the plus side, that town is only 45 to an hour away and that’s what cars are for.

Girlfriend is still in the shower. No plans for today since none of my friends around here have their own places to chill out.  Thats why I need to come back and change that.  Looks like I’ll be doing a lot of laying down and watching movies today.
